供养谁功德大
SECTION 20. To Whom We Make Offerings Ensues the Greatest Merit
依靠佛、法、僧三宝造的恶业,是一切恶业中最大的,而且大多数是现世现报。
If one’s misdeeds involve the Three Jewels — the Buddha, the Dharma, and the Sangha— those misdeeds are the gravest and usually bear results in this very lifetime.
假设今生没有报,它是顺次生受业,死后必定立即报。
Even if the results do not ripen in this life, they will definitely mature in the next lifetime after death.
相反,供养三宝,哪怕只少量供养,也会培植广大福德。
Likewise, making offerings to the Three Jewels, even a little bit, will cultivate vast merit as well.
特别是,与供养佛陀、佛法相比,供养僧宝的功德更大,因为僧宝总集了三宝。
Moreover, compared with making offerings to the Buddha and the Dharma, the merit of offering to the Sangha is even greater, since the Sangha is the collective embodiment of the Three Jewels.
如果供养佛像、舍利塔等,虽有供养的功德,但没有享用的功德,而供养僧宝,既有供养的功德,也有享用的功德。
If we make offerings to Buddha statues, relic stupas, and so forth, we accumulate the merit of offering but lack the merit of enjoying, whereas offering to the Sangha creates not only the merit of offering but also the merit of enjoying.
哪怕是供养微薄的资具、食用的一口食物,基本上今生就会成熟果报。
Even if the offering is a modest sum of money, or simple tools, or one bite of food, the effects will basically ripen in this very lifetime.
而且,并不是今生受报后就完竭了,直至没成佛、没证觉之前,一直会出生广大的果。
Moreover, the merit will not exhaust after it ripens in this life but will keep engendering vast fruits until one reaches buddhahood or full enlightenment.
僧宝是积福的圆满福田。
The Jewel of the Sangha is the perfect field for accumulating merit.
若能将自己所拥有的财物供养,哪怕只有一点点,也有意想不到的功德利益。
If you are able to offer your possessions, even a little, you can expect unexpectedly vast merit and benefit.
